Introduction and Weekly Wanted; Wishlit Wonders #1

I'm not very good with hellos. And, come to think of it, goodbyes. But this isn't a goodbye - it's a big fat die-for chocolate cake-sized HELLO! Mmm, chocolate cake... no no, Kate, don't get distracted! Kate, that's me, I'm twelve going on thirteen (a month yesterday to go) and my life goes around my reading, to be honest. I'm gonna be reviewing loads of books, obvs, as well as other stuff, 'cus just books is a little bit boring! My friend has pages of super-fun iPod Touch apps I can review, then there is movies and magazines and music and other stuff. Most of it is booky related, though!!!!!!
So I thought I'd start with a challenge EVERYONE is doing. Weekly Wanted; Wishlit Wonders is all the rage on blogs like The Beaucoup Review and The Mile Long Bookshelf (I do follow them - check them out they are both very good!) and I thought, yeah, I'll take part in this. And you should too. Here's how:

1.Post up three books you can't wait to read or wish for.
2.Post up the blurb/synopsis.
3.Post up the front cover!
Three easy steps to join in. My wishlit wonders are *drum roll!*:

1. Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen!

In the anything-goes era of the roaring twenties, all the world belongs to bright young things. They're flappers and socialites - carefree girls chasing dreams and seeking thrills - and Letty Larkspur, Cordelia Grey and Astrid Donal shine bright than all the rest. On a hot summers night in 1929, Letty and Cordelia escape their small Midwestern town for New York. There, they'll find love, chase fame and meet a flapper called Astrid, who has everything a girl could want. Across the vast lawns of Long Island, in the illicit speakeasies of Manhattan, and on the blingingly lit stages of Broadway, the three girl's fortunes will rise and fall as they match towards their own secret fates.

Official Publication Date: 6th January 2011.

2. Threads: Sequins, Stars & Spotlights by Sophia Bennett
Now in their last school year, best friends Nonie, Edie, Crow and Jenny are so close to beginning glittering careers. So why do their challenges seem suddenly seem otherwhelming? The girls have choices to make. Who will wait for fame and success? Who will emerge an outright star? Who will fall in love? And who will turn their back on all their dreams? Third in the fabulous but sharply observed and compassionate Threads series.

Official Publication Date: 7th February 2011.

3. I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter

The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women is a fairly typical all-girls school, that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE, the latest in chemical warfare in science; and pupils received extra credict for breaking CIA codes computer class. So in truth, Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses but is actually a school for spies. Cammie Morgan is a second-generation Gallagher Girl, and by her sophomore year she's already fluent in fourteen languages and able to kill a man in seven different ways (three include a piece of uncooked spaghetti). But the one thing Gallagher Academy hasn't prepared her for is what to do when she falls in love with an ordinary boy who thinks she is an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack his computer and track him through a mall without his ever being the wiser, but can she have a regular relationship with a regular boy who can never know the truth about her? Cammie may be an elite spy in training, but in her sophomore year she's beginning her most dangerous mission: she's falling in love.

Official Publication Date: 10th May 2010 (paperback edition).

They are my three. What are yours? I gotta admit, all three would look pretty on my bookshelf! When I get my hands on them, I'll review them for here and see if I wasted a wish. Join Weekly Wanted now! See the current (sunday, 9th january) post on http://themilelongbookshelf.blogspot.com/ to add your name to the list - you KNOW you WANT TO......

Ta ta for now!
