Review: My So-Called Life by Joanna Nadin!

Hurrah! I have finished the first of my twelve all-British novels of 2011! Not in order, mind. OH WELL. Here's a review on one of the funniest, worthwhile reads I have ever set eyes on:

Meet Rachel Riley...
'My life is earth-shatteringly normal. This cannot go on. Something deep and life-changing has to happen. This year I shall befriend mor exotic and interesting people, learn to drink coffee (tragic heroines do not start the day with Cheerios and lemon barley) and capture the heart of Justin Statham with my vintage clothing and knowledge of all-time great guitar solos. It's time for life to change...
starting right NOW!'
I just had to post up the blurb on the back of the book. Honestly, I couldn't sum it up better! Rachel Riley is desperate to be rid of her normal, boring life and replace with excitement and drama. But living in Saffron Walden, well, it isn't party central. Her diary includes embaressing nightmares, flirting shames and fallouts with the newspapers. Though I loved Rachel's dry humour, the star of the book would always be Suzy, Rachel's best friend Scarlet's mum. She is slightly unrealistic, but I loved every detail about what she did. My favourite part was when Rachel was in Cornwall in the summer or Christmas at the end.
I loved the way it was written as a diary, as it is throughout the whole six books. It shared more of Rachel's feelings in every little detail that happened in her year - from Treena being pregnant and delivering her little uncle Jesus, the play, the dog mess incident to the many gay rumours around Sad Ed!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is absolutely fantastic, without much faults, and if you want a good read then find a copy! If your sad, this will get you smiling!
