Just a quickie post about stuff happening, as this blog has 'life' in the title. No review, not until next week or so, when I finish the last few chapters in my book. Until then, here are the eight awesome things happening for me so far in 2011:
1. MUSIC! 2011 music is A.M.A.Z.I.NG. And, more rather, Bruno Mars is. Last year (yup, let's go there) he sang a few, er, songs. I don't remember them, except for the recent one, the ballad-love-song-y Just The Way You Are. But cast away those thoughts, 'cus you haven't sampled Grenade yet! Unless your American, you won't know. Click on the player on the side to track three and listen. Be happy. Sing along. Dance around. Then sit down and carry on reading. That's a good girl/boy.
2. BOOK COVERS! All the new novels of the year have new covers. Check out old-fashion glamour Bright Young Things' cover, for instance. I want her hair. And then books are3. being given a total re-vamp. In June, YA author and favourite Cathy Cassidy's every book is being issued a new cover in paperback! I can't wait to see the new versions of all my favourite reads by Cathy, who I have met twice before and is lovely.
3. BLOG TOURS! Sophia Bennett has announced a blog tour for her third book in February. This includes stops at The Beaucoup Review, The Mile Long Bookshelf and Chicklish, in guest posts, interviews, giveaways and exclusive snippets of the book. It. Will. Be. Awesome.
4. PEOPLE BEING HAPPY! A lot of people I've met are happy for the new year. Which makes me smile. Which (those last three words) are the title of another song I love. By Pearl & The Puppet's. Pearl has a cool nickname for herself: Pearly Pops! Haha. I want one like that! The song makes your all happy inside, which is good. Kudos to everyone thumbing up 2011!
5. PENCIL CASES! Ok, I know. Very random. But, seriously, some people have INCREDIBLE pencil cases! Try ones by Clippy - you buy a simple pencil case made of plain plastic for £8, then slide in your favourite magazine clipping inside and voila! An unique pencil case for under a tenner! I think this is soooooooooo 'mazing. Almost as much as birthday cupcakes and purple umbrellas.
6. STRANGE 'SOOOO-2011' GADGETS! Shops are full of cool stuff these days. On Totally Funky, you can buy a pencil-shaped phone stylus, a sound machine, hearts shower cap (WANT THIS SO BADLY) and a 'Blow Monkey'. Which is a monkey-shaped machine-thingy that dries your nails when they are wet with polish. If you are interested in buying any of the above, clicky this link for the website: http://www.totally-funky.co.uk/
7. FILMS! I always knew that this year would be good: its the year before the Olympics and the 'end of the world' (whatever, I am NOT dying age thirteen). But, the big deal is movies! BREAKING DAWN (best Twilight saga book) PART ONE! The romantic wedding scene! Bella's dress! Aww. It's 'bout time they hitched. THE LAST HARRY POTTER! I am going to cry at the end, I just know I will.
8. TV! GLEE! I was soooooo chuffed on Monday when Glee returned. I can't wait for Brittany/Britney, when they do Brit Spears, and of course Sectionals. No, I can't wait for it all. It's about time the sing-song people returned to telly and began making everyone feel amazing. And being our excuse for belting out 'Don't Stop Believing' in Maths.
Sorry for the funny 'eight number' thing. Ten didn't work out. Now, I'm off to finish my book, Google and watch more Glee. I'll never know all the words to Somebody to Love* at this speed. Zoom Zoom*!
* Don't Stop Believing got boring.
* Lauren Luke (YouTube beautician and amazing woman) uses this to sign off her tutorials. :)
